This proposed scheme will be situated on the River Aire at Castleford. Beneath the new Millennium bridge, visitors will be able to stand and view right into the Belly of the Beast! Two 225kW turbines are being proposed to produce around 2,100Mwh/year – enough electricity to power approximately 500 houses. This will save 1,200 tonnes of CO2 being released to the atmosphere each year.
