It is proposed for an installation of a 130kW Archimedean screw into Elvington Lock, approximately 400m South of Elvington. This will require the removal of the EA upper weir gate. In its place, an automated sluice gate will be installed which will regulate the flow of water into the Archimedean screw, operating within the parameters determined by the Environment Agency.
A 0.6m fish and eel pass will be installed alongside the screw.
